Teens’ Programme

Jozi’s Books and Blogs Festival is an annual community event which aims to showcase acclaimed authors, bloggers and journalists so as to inspire and challenge the young and old in our communities to become more involved in reading and writing.

TEEN Session 1 – BREAKING THE NORM – BOYS DO READ – YELLOW ROOM

Is it true that young boys don’t read? Does it matter what they read? How do we get them to read, if they aren’t?  Writer Suraya Dadoo, chats to several talented laaities-turned-writers about their own childhood reading journeys. Join Fred Khumalo (Dancing the Death Drill), Hinesh Vithal (National Park Trilogy), radio personalities Riyaaz Safi, Azhar Vadi and Ejaz Khan, TV presenter Shaka Sisulu and Cause Communicator Angelo Clyde Louw to find out the secret of their success.

Teens have the opportunity to meet Author Joanne Macgregor (Hushed), Author Zara Valli (Kryolia), Author Fiona Snyckers (Trinity Series), Author Laylaa Khan (That Nerd) and Author Ayesha Desai (Jasmine in the wind). Chaired by Teacher Rafiq Jajbhay.
